The Tallahassee Hemerocallis Society met on March 20, 2003, at the Leon County Library. President Angela Cassidy called the meeting to order. She announced that The Color Encyclopedia of Daylilies, by John Peat and Ted Petit, has been placed at the Leon County Library. Angela reported that the April 19 meeting would be held in the garden of Maryzell Roberts. It will be a brown-bag, swap meet with some discussion of show arrangements.
Opal Howell gave a treasurer's report. We have $4689.19 in the bank plus $65 in dues collected at the meeting. Opal reported to the group that she thinks we should close the BB & T money market account since it is earning very little. Angela will check into the problem of signatures for that account.
The program for the evening consisted of various members showing slides of their seedlings and gardens. Those participating were Barbara Boynton, Joe Agosta, Terry Richardson, Opal Howell, Mary Ann VanKleunen and Doug Hawthorne. Members were encouraged to take pictures this daylily season to be able to participate in a repeat of this program next year.
