Meeting of February 15, 2003

The Tallahassee Hemerocallis Society met on February 15, 2003, at the Leon County Agricultural Center. President Angela Smith Cassidy called the meeting to order. Angela recognized a visitor, Charlene Casey. Opal Howell, treasurer, reminded members to pay their dues for 2003. Dues are $10 for an individual and $15 for a couple. Opal reported that we have $4676 in the treasury.

President Cassidy recognized Joe Agosta who is the Regional Vice President for AHS Region 12. It was noted that member Ted Collins' registered daylilies received 2 Junior Citations for 2002.

Angela announced that our next meeting will be on Thursday, March 20 at the Leon County Library, Room B, at 7:00 PM. Joe Agosta is organizing a presentation for slide photos of members' seedlings or registrations..

The THS annual daylily show will be May 25 at Tallahassee Mall. Dianna and Durwood Culver will be Show Chairmen.

Joe Agosta announced that the Region 12 spring meeting will be in Pensacola on May 16 & 17. More information can be found on the Region 12 website,

John Kinnebrew presented the program. He showed slides of his newest seedlings and registrations. Midnight Magic, which Mr. Kinnebrew registered, has won the Lennington All America Award given by AHS.
